The 2012 ATCQA Writing Contest
 
American Tai Chi and Qigong Association (ATCQA) is holding its first annual writing contest. The prizes for the winners include 2012 World Tai Chi & Qigong Day (WTCQD) T-shirts (valued at $25 each) and gift certificates.

The contest is being in held in two separate groups, the students and the teachers. The submission deadline is March 10, 2012. All submitted articles become the property of the ATCQA.

Tai Chi and/or Qigong Students

Who can enter? Anyone who resides in the U.S. and is learning Tai Chi and/or Qigong but not teaching in either two fields

What is the subject of the writing? "Tai Chi and/or Qigong, My Passion"

How long should the article be? Maximum 500 words (excluding the title and the author's name)

What are the prizes? There will be 1 winner for each prize -

  • First Prize:  Two 2012 WTCQD T-shirts and $50 Restaurant.com gift certificate
  • Second Prize: One 2012 WTCQD T-shirt and $50 Restaurant.com gift certificate
  • Third Prize: One 2012 WTCQD T-shirt and $25 Restaurant.com gift certificate

Tai Chi and Qigong Teachers

Who can enter? Anyone who resides in the U.S. and teaches Tai Chi and/or Qigong

What is the subject of the writing? You can choose one of the following two subjects -

  1. How My Tai Chi (Qigong) Classes survived (and thrived in) the Great Recession
  2. How I Worked Wonder for My student(s)

How long should the article be? Maximum 1,000 words (excluding the title and the author's name)

What are the prizes?

  • First Prize:  Three 2012 WTCQD T-shirts and $50 Restaurant.com gift certificate
  • Second Prize: Two 2012 WTCQD T-shirts and $50 Restaurant.com gift certificate
  • Third Prize: Two 2012 WTCQD T-shirts and $25 Restaurant.com gift certificate

How to submit?

  • We will only accept submission by email.
  • Please type your article in a word-processor document, preferably Microsoft Word.
  • Email your article as an attachment to amtaichi@gmail.com. 
  • In the subject line of your email, please include "2012 contest".

How will the articles be judged? Every article will be evaluated by whether it stays on the subject, grammar and overall quality of writing.

When will the winners be announced? In late March, we will notify the winners and publish the winner list on www.AmericanTaiChi.net. The list will also appear in the March issue of the Supreme Chi Living newsletter.
